Managing Attorney Javier Perez wrote an article for Accessible Law Review at the University of North Texas College of Law entitled "Essential: Employee Rights and Considerations During the Covid-19 Pandemic." Accessible Law was created to serve members of the public with the mission of producing publications that improve legal comprehension and access for all people affected by or engaged in the practice of the law.
In "Essential," Javier provides an overview of the legal landscape for employees during the Covid-19 pandemic and makes the case that at-will employment, the unavailability of stimulus, unemployment, and other government benefits for tax-paying undocumented workers, and the disproportionate impact on people of color have devastated already-marginalized communities.
Check out "Essential" here.
