About Javier

Javier Perez is a bilingual, Board Certified Labor & Employment litigation attorney who has dedicated his professional life to helping people in their time of need.  Fewer than 10% of attorneys in Texas are Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. A seasoned litigator and passionate advocate for equality and social justice, Javier represents his clients with an unrivaled combination of determination, compassion, and ability.

A skilled trial lawyer and employment law specialist, Javier Perez is dedicated to providing his clients – who come from all walks of life – with the high caliber representation they deserve.  Attorney Perez is experienced in the courtroom – he has litigated hundreds of cases in state and federal court and has represented clients in over a dozen civil jury trials, bench trials, and final arbitration hearings.

Javier specializes in employment law and has represented many clients in all types of employment cases, including race discrimination, color discrimination, national origin discrimination, religious discrimination, disability discrimination, Sabine Pilot wrongful termination claims, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), violations of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), and claims for unpaid wages and overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and related claims.  Javier has also represented numerous clients in contract or other civil disputes with their employers.

For his work in the legal profession, Javier was selected to serve on the Merit Selection Panel Committee to interview and recommend the next Magistrate Judge for the federal court in Dallas, Texas, and has been repeatedly named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine (one of 10 in his category statewide), a designation awarded to less than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state based on peer recognition, professional achievement, and other factors.  Javier has also been named a Top Latino Lawyer nationally by Latino Leaders magazine and elected a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, an elite state-wide distinction awarded to the top 1/3 of 1% of Texas attorneys in recognition of his dedication to the administration of justice and professional standing among his peers.

Prior to founding Javier Perez Law, Javier was a founding partner in a boutique employment litigation firm in Dallas and worked under former Federal Judge Joe Kendall.  Javier is also a former legal extern to Texas Supreme Court Justice David Medina, Federal Magistrate Judge J. Scott Hacker, and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF).
